Telecommunications - Configuration of X.25 Fast Select Acceptance

Subscription Option - Fast Select Acceptance

Description of Option

Is an optional user facility agreed for a period of time. This facility if subscribed to, authorises the network to transmit to the DTE incoming calls which request the fast select facility.

DTEs can request the fast select facility on a per call basis by means of an appropriate facility request.

The fast select facility allows the call request, call connected and clear packets to contain upto 128 bytes of user data.

A restricted fast select facility restricts the called party to sending a clear only.

A CCITT 1984 enhancement is that: 'converted calls' (ie non restricted calls which have exchanged data) can have upto 128 bytes of data in the clear packet.
