Using Blender to display object file

This section is about loading a simple mesh from an .obj file, if you want to load a character from 'Poser' or 'DAZ Studio' then see this page.

Start blender

delete default cube (x - erase selected object OK)

file - import - wavefront (.obj)

select file and click on import a wavefront OBJ file

on import dialog click OK

right click on plot to select it (buttons aapear at bottom when selected)

set edit mode at bottom of window (tab)

space - edit - normals - Recalculate Outside (Ctrl N)

blender create normals

f5 - buttons at bottom change to preview(empty) and links & pipline

press link to object:add new

if necessary minimise other boxes to get to texture buttons.

add texture

click on load and select grid file

object mode

right click on camera

press 0 on numeric keyboard

space rotate and scale to fit in scene

add lamp
