The hard disk that I am upgrading from, has 3 partitions on it:
- Swap partition
- Linux partition
- Home partition
I want the new system to have the same configuration.

Clicking on change gives the Suggested Partitioning:

I tried 'Base Partition on This Proposal'. However I could not get this to work as I wanted, deleting the 'extended' entry seemed to delete the other partitions.
I therefore tried 'Create Custom Partion Setup'. This did exactly what I wanted and suggested 3 partitions already on the disk.
Selecting the top level device and clicking edit shows a graphical representation of the disk as you can see here:
I thought it would be a good to have a separate partition for data but I am not sure how much space to leave for Linux and application, I chose 40G but I'm not sure.

Then I created a new home partition.

The proposed setup has a swap file of 1Gb. I read that swap file should be 1.5 times the ram size, so I tried to increase the size of the swap file.
Then I worked out that +1G does not increase by 1G it sets it to 1G. So I tried +2G:
