From release notes:

If you use to work in different network environments with auto login enabled, host name setting problems may occur and, as a consequence, starting graphical application fails. By default DHCP is used to set the host name.

To avoid these race conditions, disable "earlykdm" as root with command chk.config -d earlykdm and restart X
